七苦聖母（憂苦聖母）紀念
福音：若19:25-27 或路2:33-35

今天是常年期第廿四周星期二。教會在今天慶祝七苦聖母（憂苦聖母）的紀念日。最近出版的彌撒經書告訴我們：這個瞻禮起源于聖母七苦紀念日；其中大多數苦難以與耶穌受難日——即她佇立於十字架下——的事件相關聯。我們紀念：榮福童貞瑪利亞不得不親歷目睹自己聖子離世的切膚之痛。她在我們的救贖中有著獨特的分受，將聖子的生命奉獻於上主，並信賴這正是天主計畫的一部分。

今天的彌撒福音有兩個選擇，分別是聖母獻耶穌于聖殿的時候，西默盎給聖母所說的預言（參看：路2:33-35），耶穌在十字架上，祂與榮福童貞聖母瑪利亞和祂所愛的那個門徒之間的對話（參看：若19:25-27）。兩篇福音相輔相成，是榮福童貞聖母瑪利亞最極致奉獻自己於耶穌的救贖工程的生動寫照。榮福童貞聖母瑪利亞，當她聽到西默盎的預言以後，她並沒有對此表示驚訝，更沒有表示抗拒，她選擇接受。我們的主耶穌基督被釘在十字架上的時候，她繼續陪伴在她愛子的身邊，沒有抱怨一言，她欣然接受耶穌所愛的門徒為她的兒子，充分展現她的母愛，使我們有幸能稱她為我們的母親。

今天，教會慶祝痛苦聖母的紀念日，意在提醒我們在生活中時時刻刻效法榮福的至聖童貞聖母瑪利亞，時時刻刻承行天主的聖意，時時刻刻陪伴吾主耶穌基督，時時刻刻準備好奉獻自己，完成救主託付給我們的使命。現在，讓我們一起向天主獻上祈禱：

天主，祢願意祢的聖子被高舉在十字架上時，祂的母親佇立在旁，分擔祂的痛苦。求祢使祢的教會與童貞瑪利亞共擔基督的苦難，配得分享祂的復活。藉著祢的子，我們的主耶穌基督，祢和祂及聖神，是天主，永生永王。亞孟。

Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows
Gospel: Jn 19:25–27 or Lk 2:33–35

Today is Tuesday of the Twenty-Fourth Week in Ordinary Time. Today the Church celebrates the Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows. As the recently published Roman Missal tells us, this feast originated as a memorial of the Seven Sorrows of Mary, most of which were linked to the events of Good Friday, when she stood at the foot of the Cross. We remember that the Blessed Virgin Mary had to live through the piercing grief of seeing her own Son die. She had a unique share in our redemption, offering her Son’s life to the Lord and trusting that it was part of his plan.

For today’s Mass, there are two choices for the Gospel: the prophecy that Simeon spoke to the Blessed Mother when she presented Jesus in the Temple (cf. Lk 2:33–35), and the dialogue on the Cross between Jesus, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the disciple whom he loved (cf. Jn 19:25–27). The two Gospel passages complement one another, and together they form a vivid portrait of the Blessed Virgin Mary’s most perfect offering of herself to the redemptive work of Jesus.

When the Blessed Virgin Mary heard Simeon’s prophecy, she did not express surprise, still less resistance; she chose to accept it. When our Lord Jesus Christ was crucified, she remained close to her beloved Son, without a word of complaint. She willingly accepted the disciple whom Jesus loved as her own son, fully revealing her maternal love and making us blessed indeed to call her our Mother.

Today, in celebrating the Memorial of the Sorrowful Mother, the Church means to remind us to imitate the Blessed and most holy Virgin Mary at every moment of our lives—to carry out the will of God always, to stay close to our Lord Jesus Christ always, and to be ready at all times to offer ourselves, so as to fulfill the mission that the Savior has entrusted to us. And now, let us lift up our prayer to God:

O God, who willed
that, when your Son was lifted high on the Cross,
his Mother should stand close by and share his suffering,
grant that your Church,
participating with the Virgin Mary in the Passion of Christ,
may merit a share in his Resurrection.
Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
