常年期第廿三主日
福音:瑪18:15-20

今天是常年期第廿三主日。取自聖瑪竇福音的經文帶給我們耶穌基督有關修和的訓誨。我願意借此機會提供一些反思。

生活中,我們時常會因各種原因,與他人發生爭執,甚至會因一些細小的瑣事,不再與那些和我們意見不合的人來往。因為我們遵循的是這個世界的邏輯,這個世界的邏輯就是:以自我為中心,以自己的利益為先,總想要通過一切手段,戰勝對方。仇恨和不安是這個世界的永恆邏輯。而令人心生仇恨,令人感到不安,其根本原因就是罪。罪會使人不自由,會使人的內心感到失落,以致人總想要佔有一切,因為人總想要通過佔有一切,戰勝他人,使自己獲得充足的安全感。

今天,耶穌要求我們:“如果你的兄弟得罪你,你和他單獨在一起的時候,就去告訴他的過錯,如果他聽了你的話,你就贏得了你的兄弟。如果他不聽,你就帶著一個或兩個人和你一起去,這樣,每一件事情,都可以根據兩個或三個人的證言得以確定。如果他拒絕聽從他們,就去告訴教會。如果他甚至拒絕聽教會的話,就把他當作你的外邦人或稅吏一樣看待。我實在對你們說:你們在地上束縛的,在天上也要被束縛,你們在地上解開的,在天上也要被解開。”(參看:瑪18:15-18)

這使我想到近來教會遇到的一些挑戰:

2026年7月1日,裂教的聖庇護十世司鐸兄弟會(SSPX)未經教宗良十四世授權,在瑞士埃科納祝聖4名主教。2026年7月2日,聖座教義部頒佈法令,正式宣告該團體因實施裂教性質的行為而處於裂教狀態,相關人員因觸犯《天主教法典》相關規定而自科絕罰。 這是教會依法對違法行為所作出的正式確認——絕罰並非教會主動”施加”的懲罰,而是因裂教行為本身依法自動生效,教會的法令只是對此事實予以宣告。

2026年7月25日,主張宗座出缺主義的至聖救主會之子(FSSR)未經教宗良十四世授權,擅自祝聖其總會長彌額爾·瑪利亞(Michael Mary,俗名Greg Sim)為主教。他們拒絕聽從教會的勸告,更不願服從聖伯多祿宗徒的繼承人。亞伯丁教區主教休·吉伯特(Hugh Gilbert)遂依法對該團體及相關人員作出相應的教會懲戒,宣告其因裂教而自科絕罰。

在此常年期第廿三主日,我邀請各位主內弟兄姐妹為這些與我們分裂的兄弟姐妹,同心合意獻上祈禱,願我們共融性的祈禱,能喚醒那些與我們分離的兄弟姐妹的良心,使他們嚴格按照教會規定的修和程式,回到教會的大家庭,回到耶穌基督建立在聖伯多祿磐石之上的唯一羊棧,回到與聖伯多祿宗徒和他的繼承人,那些與聖伯多祿宗徒共融的宗徒和他們的繼承人共融的教會內,使那四散的天主子民,重歸於基督內。

天主,我們賴祢的救贖,領受義子的身份,求祢仁慈眷顧祢所鍾愛的兒女,好使所有信仰基督的人能領受真正的自由和永恆的產業。藉著祢的子,我們的主耶穌基督,祢和祂及聖神,是天主,永生永王。亞孟。

Twenty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time
Gospel: Mt 18:15-20

Today is the Twenty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time. The passage taken from the Gospel of Saint Matthew offers us the teaching of Jesus Christ concerning reconciliation. I would like to take this opportunity to offer some reflections.

In life, we often quarrel with others for various reasons, and we may even, because of some trifling matters, cease to associate with those who disagree with us. For we follow the logic of this world, and the logic of this world is this: to be self-centered, to put our own interests first, and always to seek, by whatever means, to triumph over the other. Hatred and unrest are the perpetual logic of this world. And the root cause that breeds hatred in the heart and gives rise to unrest is sin. Sin makes a person unfree and fills the heart with a sense of loss, so that one always desires to possess everything, for one seeks, by possessing everything, to overcome others and thus secure for oneself a sense of safety.

Today, Jesus says to us: “If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have won over your brother. If he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, so that every word may be confirmed by the testimony of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell the Church. And if he refuses to listen even to the Church, treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax collector. Amen, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” (Cf. Mt 18:15-18)

This brings to mind certain challenges the Church has faced of late:

On July 1, 2026, the schismatic Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (SSPX), without the authorization of Pope Leo XIV, consecrated four bishops at Écône, Switzerland. On July 2, 2026, the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith promulgated a decree formally declaring that this group, by committing an act of a schismatic nature, had placed itself in a state of schism, and that the persons concerned had incurred latae sententiae excommunication for violating the relevant provisions of the Code of Canon Law. This is the Church’s formal confirmation of an unlawful act in accordance with the law — excommunication is not a penalty “inflicted” by the Church of her own initiative; rather, it takes effect automatically by the very fact of the schismatic act itself (latae sententiae), and the Church’s decree merely declares and confirms this fact.

On July 25, 2026, the Sons of the Most Holy Redeemer (FSSR), which adheres to sedevacantism, without the authorization of Pope Leo XIV, illicitly consecrated its Superior General, Michael Mary, as a bishop. They refused to heed the admonition of the Church and were even unwilling to submit to the Successor of the Apostle Peter. The Bishop of Aberdeen, Hugh Gilbert, accordingly imposed the appropriate ecclesiastical penalties upon that group and the persons concerned, declaring them excommunicated latae sententiae for the crime of schism.

On this Twenty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time, I invite all brothers and sisters in the Lord to pray together with one heart for these our brothers and sisters who are separated from us, that our prayer offered in communion may awaken the conscience of those separated from us, and that they may, in strict accordance with the process of reconciliation established by the Church, return to the great family of the Church, to the one sheepfold founded by Jesus Christ upon the rock of Peter, to the Church in communion with the Apostle Peter and his Successor — with those Apostles who are in communion with Peter and their successors — so that the scattered People of God may be gathered again into Christ.

O God, by whom we are redeemed and receive adoption,
look graciously upon your beloved sons and daughters,
that those who believe in Christ
may receive true freedom
and an everlasting inheritance.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever
