Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time
Luke 6: 27-38
Your Life: A Melody of Grace

Jesus gave us the greatest law: to love God and each other as family. He expands this through the Beatitudes, summarising Christian life. In today’s Gospel, He further explains how to live this love practically, commanding us to love, do good, bless, pray, offer, and give. These are active calls to generosity and mercy. The true Christian challenge is to love without expecting anything in return—to give, forgive, and serve even when it seems unreasonable

At the heart of Jesus’ message is mercy: “Be merciful, as your Father is merciful.” Our faith requires us to imitate Jesus, who sacrificed Himself for His enemies. The Gospel teaches us to forgive rather than judge, reminding us that without forgiveness, we cannot expect God’s grace. Following Christ is not just knowing about Jesus; it is living His love.

Life is like a piano keyboard with both white and black keys. The white keys represent the beautiful moments—joy, love, and peace. They are plentiful and stand out. The black keys, smaller and fewer, symbolise hardships—loss, pain, and struggles. If you only play the white keys, the melody will be pleasant but lacking depth. However, when both the white and black keys are played together, a rich and powerful harmony emerges.

Life is a blend of joy and sorrow, blessings and challenges. Instead of resisting difficulties, we are called to embrace them, recognising that even our struggles have a purpose. They teach us what is truly valuable, shaping our hearts and refining our spirits. The trials we endure help us grow in faith, patience, and trust in God’s providence.

God is the Master Composer of our lives. He takes both the high and low notes of our experiences and weaves them into a masterpiece of grace. What are the white keys in your life? What are the black keys? Today, let God take control of the music, trusting that He is composing something beautiful.

你是伯多祿：聆聽，肯定，活於信德

在今天的福音經文，耶穌問自己的門徒：“人們說我是誰？”這個提問不只是出於好奇，這是邀請我們認清我們的身邊人。作為基督徒，我們不能只生活在泡沫化的教會團體和個人圈子。信仰不是封閉的，而是與世界互動。耶穌教導我們聆聽的重要性 —— 不僅要聆聽那些和我們有相同信仰的人，也要聆聽那些與我們存在不同想法的人。在我們的個人生活中， 我們也必須敞開心扉，聆聽別人對我們的看法，但是不要被他們的意見支配，而是要獲得洞察力，提高自主意識。

伯多祿的回答：“禰是基督”是一個明顯的轉捩點。信仰不只是與聆聽有關：這也關乎我們所堅信的。在這充滿各種雜訊，觀點不斷改變的世界，我們必須紮根於我們相信的真理。我們傾聽，也要堅守那塑造我們基督徒身份的基本信仰。信仰不是被動的，它要求我們堅信。我們蒙召既要敞開心扉，也要對我們所相信的真理堅信不移。

耶穌對伯多祿說：“你是伯多祿，在這磐石上，我要建立我的教會。”這個瞬間突顯了基督徒旅途的第三步：認同。當我們聆聽他人，堅定我們的信仰，我們就開始活出真我。我們是基督徒，不僅要在言語上認同這個身份，行動上，我們也要認同這個身份。我們所做的一切，源自本我。

今天，讓我們為教宗方濟各祈禱，願聖母照看他，賜給他力量。主，請幫助我們聆聽，使我們信仰堅定，如同真門徒一樣生活。亞孟。

Matthew 16: 13-19
You Are Peter: Listening, Affirming, and Living in Faith

In today’s Gospel, Jesus asks His disciples, “Who do people say that I am?” This question is not just about curiosity; it is an invitation to be aware of the reality around us. As Christians, we must not live in a bubble confined only to our church groups or personal circles. Faith is not isolated; it engages with the world. Jesus teaches us the importance of listening—not only to those who share our beliefs but also to those who think differently. In our personal lives, we must also be open to hearing how others perceive us, not to be controlled by their opinions, but to gain insight and grow in self-awareness.

Peter’s response, “You are the Christ,” marks a turning point. Faith is not only about listening; it is about affirming what we believe. In a world of constant noise and shifting opinions, we must be rooted in the truths of our faith. We listen, but we also stand firm in the essential beliefs that shape our Christian identity. Faith is not passive; it requires conviction. We are called to be both open-hearted and steadfast in what we hold as true.

Jesus then tells Peter, “You are Peter, and upon this rock, I will build my Church.” This moment highlights the third step of the Christian journey: identity. When we listen to others and affirm our faith, we begin to live out who we truly are. Our identity as Christians is confirmed not just by words but through our actions. What we do, flows from who we are.

Today, let us pray for Pope Francis that Our Lady may watch over him and grant him strength. Lord, help us listen, affirm our faith, and live as true disciples. Amen!

基督徒的旅途不只是相信基督；就是與祂同行，接納祂的道路，容許祂的恩典改變我們的生活。今天的福音經文告訴我們：這個旅途包括三個關鍵步驟：背起我們自己的十字架，棄絕自己，滿懷信德和愛追隨祂。

背起你的十字架是第一步。規避痛苦，希望有一條更輕省的道路，我們很容易選擇一個由我們自己創造的十字架，一個更適合我們，令我感到更舒適的十字架。但是，想要成為真正的門徒，意味著要接納生活加給我們的十字架，要知道：只有藉著它，我們才能找到救贖。與其專注于存於臆想中的負擔，使自己沉浸在問題中，不如讓自己相信：天主臨在於我們的痛苦中，祂會和我們一起承擔這些痛苦。

第二個步驟是棄絕自己。這並不是意味著拒絕承認自己的身份，而是棄絕自己的驕傲和虛榮，以及我們不斷尋求的，他人對我們的認可。我們蒙召，不是為自己生活，而是為與他人的關係生活，為了愛的緣故，犧牲掉自己的偏情。正是這些細小的克己，使我們越來越接近基督，學會像祂一樣去愛。

跟隨基督是基督徒生活的核心。這不僅僅關乎背起十字架，這也關乎我們走向復活。誠然，這條道路是艱難的，但是，那些追隨基督的人見證了不可思議的事 —— 天主的恩典在他們的生活產生了效力，他們的內心發生了轉變，因為與天主同在，感到喜樂。我們滿懷信心背起十字架的時候，就成了天主臨在於世界的活證人。

主，請幫助我們背起我的十字架，為了愛的緣故，捨棄自己，以一顆喜樂的心追隨禰。亞孟！

Walking with Jesus

The Christian journey is not just about believing in Christ; it is about walking with Him, embracing His path, and allowing His grace to transform our lives. Today’s Gospel tells us that this journey consists of three key steps: taking up our cross, renouncing ourselves, and following Him with faith and love.

Taking up your cross is the first step. It is easy to avoid suffering, to wish for an easier path, or even to choose a cross of our own making—one that fits our comfort. But true discipleship means embracing the cross that life presents to us, knowing that through it, we find redemption. Instead of focusing on imaginary burdens or drowning in problems, trust that God is present in our sufferings and that He will carry them with us.

Renouncing oneself is the next step. This does not mean rejecting who I am but rather letting go of my pride, vanity, and constant need for approval. We are called to live not for ourselves alone but in relationships with others, sacrificing selfish desires for the sake of love. It is in these small acts of self-denial that we grow closer to Christ, learning to love as He loves.

Following Jesus is the heart of the Christian life. It is not just about carrying a cross but also about walking toward the resurrection. Yes, the path is difficult, but those who follow Christ witness incredible things—grace at work in their lives, transformation of the heart, and the joy of living with God. When we accept our crosses with faith, we become living witnesses of God’s presence in the world.

Lord, help me embrace my cross, renounce myself for the sake of love, and follow You with a joyful heart. Amen!

我們的人生故事養成了我們的身份。想想那些影響我們的人（我們的家庭，我們的文化，傳統給我們灌輸的歸屬感）。回想一下：那些愛你，關心你，為你付出犧牲的人。我們的過去不僅僅是回憶：這突顯了我們旅途的基礎。反思那些塑造你的經歷，永遠記得那些把你錨定的根。

你的前景決定了你的前進方向。沒有方向，很容易感到迷茫。每天設定一個小目標，把你的行動導向更大的目標。問問自己：“我為何而奮鬥？我的生活反映出我的信仰和使命？”目標明確才能使我們自信地走下去，瞭解每一步的意義。

我們的夢想是讓希望永存的火焰。過去，你曾夢想過你的生活會是什麼樣子的。你是否依然堅持著這些夢想，還是它們已經消失了？夢想塑造了我們的未來，會使我們不斷前行，正如聖若瑟的夢指向他完成使命。不要害怕再次做夢，因為天主藉著你內心最深切的渴望向你發言。

你是天主的兒女。要滿懷感激之情回顧你的歷史，仰望天主的指引，重新點燃祂措置 在你心中的夢想。主，請幫助我們牢記我的使命，滿懷信心前進。亞孟。

Mark 8: 27-33
Identity – a reminder of our Mission

Our identity is deeply tied to our mission in life. It is shaped by our past, our present outlook, and the dreams that guide us forward. In moments of uncertainty, remembering who I am and where I come from will help me remain faithful to God’s call.

Our life story nurtures our identity. Consider the individuals who have influenced us—our family, our culture, and the traditions that instilled a sense of belonging. Recall those who loved, cared for, and sacrificed for you. Our past is more than just memories; it serves as a foundation that highlights our journey. Reflect on the experiences that have shaped you, and always remember the roots that anchor you.

Your outlook determines where you are headed. Without direction, it is easy to feel lost. Set small goals each day, orienting your actions toward a greater purpose. Ask yourself, “What am I striving for? How does my life reflect my faith and mission?” Clarity in purpose allows us to walk confidently, knowing that each step has meaning.

Our dreams are the fire that keeps hope alive. In the past, you dreamed of what your life could be. Do you still hold onto those dreams, or have they faded away? Dreams shape our future and keep us moving forward, just as St. Joseph’s dreams guided him in his mission. Do not be afraid to dream again, because God speaks through the deepest desires of your heart.

You are a child of God. Look back at your history with gratitude, look up to God for guidance, and rekindle the dreams He has placed in your heart. Lord, help me remember my mission and walk forward with faith. Amen!
