ASH WEDNESDAY
Mt 6:1-6,16-18
Rising from the Ashes

Today, as we begin the sacred season of Lent, we are reminded of a profound truth: we are dust, and to dust we shall return. The ashes placed on our foreheads are not just a symbol but a call to humility, repentance, and renewal. They remind us that life is fleeting and that our journey must be one of transformation—a movement away from pride and self-centeredness toward humility and dependence on God.

Lent is not simply about giving things up or performing external rituals. Jesus invites us into a deep, interior conversion—one that involves fasting, prayer, and almsgiving as paths to real change. Fasting is not just about food; it is about disciplining our desires so that our spirit may be stronger than our worldly inclinations. What are we willing to let go of—not just in our diet, but in our hearts? Perhaps it is time to fast from negativity, gossip, distractions, or selfishness.

Almsgiving is not just about donating things we no longer need. It is about giving of ourselves, being more present to those in need, and making sacrifices that bring life to others. How can we give more of our time, love, and attention to those who need it most?

And finally, prayer—the heart of our Lenten journey. Without prayer, fasting and almsgiving become empty actions. This is the time to return to Jesus with sincerity, to seek His mercy, and to renew our relationship with Him.

Let this Lent be a time of true transformation, not just an external observance. May our sacrifices lead us to a renewed heart, one that beats in rhythm with Christ’s love. Something good is on the way—our return to the Lord.

福音：谷10:28-31
為了眾人舍掉一切

今天的福音經文提醒我們：追隨基督需要每天選擇甘願舍掉對世俗的依戀，追求永恆的事物。那時候，伯多祿對耶穌說：“我們舍掉一切，追隨了禰。”耶穌以恩許作回應：那些為了祂的緣故，舍掉家，家庭和財產的人，今世和永生都會得到百倍的回報。

今天的福音經文對我們每人都適用，而不單單是那些度奉獻生活的人。每個基督徒都蒙召做出符合天主旨意的選擇。優先選擇參與彌撒，而非優先考慮歡娛，優先選擇花時間祈禱，而非選擇分心，選擇以基督為中心，活出我們的聖召。這些都是我們信仰的日常決定的定義 。

追隨基督也意味著容許祂完全進入我們的聖召。如果你結婚，就要邀請基督進到你的婚姻。如果你是個神父或會士，就要讓基督成為你職份的核心 。沒有他，我們的事奉可能會變成例行公事，我們就會面臨只是扮演某種角色的演員，而非成為真門徒的風險。

最後，耶穌提醒我們：我們的終向是天堂。祂並沒有要求我們無怨無故捨棄事物，而是要求我們舍掉小者，好能獲得更大的賞報。今天，我們在依戀的是什麼，那阻止我們完全接納祂的，又是什麼？我們是在尋求永恆的事物，還是在追求那暫時的東西？

願救主賜給我們追隨祂的勇氣，舍掉一切，相信祂，好能領受真正的恩典，就是領受祂的愛，祂的平安，天堂的恩許。亞孟。

今天的福音经文对我们每人都适用，而不单单是那些度奉献生活的人。每个基督徒都蒙召做出符合天主旨意的选择。优先选择参与弥撒，而非优先考虑欢娱，优先选择花时间祈祷，而非选择分心，选择以基督为中心，活出我们的圣召。这些都是我们信仰的日常决定的定义 。

Tuesday of the Eighth Week in Ordinary Time
Mark 10: 28-31
Leaving It All for the ALL

Today’s Gospel reminds us that following Jesus requires a daily choice, a willingness to let go of worldly attachments and seek what is eternal. When Peter tells Jesus, “We have left everything to follow you,” Jesus responds with a promise: those who leave behind home, family, and possessions for His sake will receive far more in return—both in this life and in eternal life.

This Gospel applies to all of us, not just those in consecrated life. Every Christian is called to make choices that align with God’s will. Choosing to go to Mass instead of prioritising entertainment, dedicating time to prayer instead of distractions, or living our vocation with Christ at the centre—these are the daily decisions that define our faith.

Following Jesus also means allowing Him to enter our vocation completely. If you are married, invite Christ into your marriage. If you are a priest or religious, let Christ be the heart of your ministry. Without Him, our service can become routine, and we risk becoming mere actors in a role rather than true disciples.

Ultimately, Jesus reminds us that our destination is Heaven. He does not ask us to renounce things for nothing—but rather, to leave behind the lesser to gain the greater. What are we clinging to today that prevents us from fully embracing Him? Are we seeking eternity, or are we settling for what is temporary?

May the Lord give us the courage to walk His path, trusting that in leaving everything for Him, we receive everything that truly matters—His love, His peace, and the promise of Heaven. Amen.

今天的福音經向我們展現了耶穌和一個奔到祂跟前的富人的相遇。那個富人問祂說：“善師，我該怎麼做，才能承受永生？”這個富人渴望得到更多，雖然他很富有。然而，當耶穌邀請他舍掉自己的財富並跟隨祂的時候，那人的臉就沉下來，憂鬱的離開了。他的故事提醒我們一個很大的真理：這個世界的一切永遠無法滿足我們心中的渴望。

我們在這人身上看到移動：他奔向耶穌，但是，他悲傷地走開了。他擁有一切，但是，他感到焦躁不安，渴望得到更多。在他的內心深處，他意識到自己需要得到醫治，但是，當他面對冒著風險去愛，完全在天主內的時候，他感到猶豫。那令他感到心安的財富，成了他的負擔。

這段福音邀請我們反思：我的心依戀什麼？我們和那富人一樣，也尋求幸福和意義，但是，我們是在物質，社會地位，或是短暫的快樂中尋求幸福和意義嗎？耶穌提醒我們：真正的滿足來自追隨祂，來自放棄虛假的安全感，接納愛和慷慨。

追隨基督，意味著要冒著風險去愛，超脫自我，與那在急難中的人分享——不僅是我們物質上的財富，還有我們的時間，善良和存在。這就是持久的財富，能真正帶來希望的財富。

讓我人們轉向榮福童貞瑪利亞，求她幫助我們把耶穌看作是我們生命中真正的財富，賜給我們無所畏懼追隨祂的勇氣。亞孟。

Monday of the Eighth Week in Ordinary Time
Mark 10:17-27
The True Treasure in Christ

Today’s Gospel presents us with an encounter between Jesus and a rich man who runs to Him, asking, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” The man is eager, searching for something more despite his wealth. Yet, when Jesus invites him to let go of his possessions and follow Him, the man’s face falls, and he walks away sorrowfully. His story reminds us of a great truth: the things of this world can never fully satisfy the longing of our hearts.

We see two movements in this man: he runs toward Jesus but walks away sad. He had everything, yet he was restless, yearning for something greater. Deep within, he recognised his need for healing, but when confronted with the challenge to risk love and trust completely in God, he hesitated. His wealth, which he once thought was his security, became his burden.

This Gospel challenges us to reflect: What is my heart attached to? Like the rich man, we all seek happiness and meaning, but do we search for it in material things, social status, or fleeting pleasures? Jesus reminds us that true fulfilment comes from following Him, from letting go of false securities and embracing love and generosity.

To follow Jesus is to risk love, to step beyond ourselves and share with those in need—not only our material goods but also our time, kindness, and presence. This is the wealth that lasts, the wealth that brings true joy.

Let us turn to the Blessed Virgin Mary, asking her to help us recognise Jesus as the true treasure of our lives and to give us the courage to follow Him without fear. Amen.

通往賢明和謙遜領導之道

今天的福音經文邀請我們在信仰之旅中反思智慧，謙遜和自我意識。耶穌用簡單的比喻教導我們如何明智領導，正直生活。

祂以“瞎子能帶領瞎子嗎？”（參看：路6:39）這個問句開頭。這提醒我們：真正的領袖首先必須看清，不但要以形體上的眼光，也要採用出自天主的智慧和分辨能力看清。不論我們是父母，老師，司鐸，還是公務司祭，我們蒙召去帶領別人，如果我們對真理視而不見，那麼，我們就無法帶領別人。耶穌，完美的老師，邀請我們效法祂溫柔，仁慈和公義的榜樣，好使我們也成為健全和智慧的領袖。

然而，耶穌警告我們，不可偽善，也不可自視為義人。祂問說：“你們為什麼看著你們兄弟眼中的斑點，卻沒有看到自己眼中的木梁？”（參看：路6:41）有多少次我們批評別人，對我們自己的過錯忽略不見？評判和譴責很容易，承認我們的軟弱卻很困難。耶穌召叫我們自我檢視，指出別人的缺點以前，先認識到自己的缺點。只有藉著謙遜和自我意識，我們才能以愛和可信糾正別人。

最後，耶穌提醒我們：我們的言行顯露了我們內心的真實狀態。祂警告我們對抗流言蜚語，誹謗，消極，這一切能破壞關係，家庭，團體。然而，祂呼籲我們結好果子，講建樹的話，而非拆毀的話。

讓我們向上主懇求看清之恩，使我們能以謙遜，愛和真誠引導他人。願我們追隨祂的德表，結出良善，仁慈和平安的果實。亞孟。

Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Luke 6:39-45
The Path to Wise and Humble Leadership

Today’s Gospel invites us to reflect on wisdom, humility, and self-awareness in our journey of faith. Jesus uses simple parables to teach us how to lead wisely and live with integrity.

He begins with the question: “Can a blind man lead a blind man?” (Lk 6:39). This reminds us that a true leader must first see clearly, not just with physical sight, but with the wisdom and discernment that come from God. Whether we are parents, teachers, priests, or public servants, we are called to guide others, and we cannot do so if we ourselves are blind to the truth. Jesus, the perfect teacher, invites us to follow His example of meekness, mercy, and righteousness so that we, too, maybe sound and wise leaders.

However, Jesus also warns us against hypocrisy and self-righteousness. He asks: “Why do you see the speck in your brother’s eye but do not notice the log in your own eye?” (Lk 6:41). How often do we criticise others while ignoring our own faults? It is easy to judge and condemn, yet difficult to acknowledge our own weaknesses. Jesus calls us to self-examination, to recognize our flaws before pointing out the shortcomings of others. Only through humility and self-awareness can we correct others with love and credibility.

Finally, Jesus reminds us that our words and actions reveal the true state of our hearts. He warns against gossip, slander, and negativity, which can destroy relationships, families, and communities. Instead, He calls us to bear good fruit, speaking words that build up rather than tear down.

Let us ask the Lord for the grace to see clearly, to lead with humility, and to love sincerely. May we follow His example and bear the fruits of goodness, mercy, and peace. Amen.
