John 20:24-29
Touch the wounds, find the risen Lord

Every year, the Feast of Saint Thomas reminds us that faith is not a fairy tale. It is born in real wounds—Christ’s wounds and our own. Thomas was away from the community when Jesus first appeared. He carried disappointment, doubt, perhaps even anger. Yet when he returns, Jesus does not scold him. He simply says: “Put your finger here… do not be unbelieving, but believe.”

Notice where Jesus places Thomas: back in the middle of the community, the Upper Room, where fear and prayer mingle. It is as if He tells us: “If you wish to meet Me, stay with your brothers and sisters. Do not look elsewhere, do not walk away. My wounds are found in the community.” Today, the Lord says the same: Remain. Pray together, break bread together, share fears together. There you will find My living presence.

Where do we touch these wounds now? Pope Francis reminds us: in the flesh of those who suffer—the hungry, the imprisoned, the addicted, the forgotten. When you draw near to them with mercy, you place your hand in Christ’s side. And like Thomas, you move from doubt to adoration: “My Lord and my God!”

Let us ask: When trials come, do I isolate myself, or do I return to the community? When I seek the Risen One, do I chase extraordinary signs, or do I look to the ordinary: the Mass, the poor, the brothers and sisters God has given me?

Christ’s wounds are still open—channels of love and mercy. May we be a Church with doors open, arms open, hearts open, so that all who are wounded by life may discover in us the tenderness of God.

今天的福音經文提醒我們：耶穌和兩個附魔人之間的神妙而強大的相遇。這些魔鬼認出了耶穌的身份。他們知道祂的權柄。那時候，它們懇求祂，使他們進入一群豬內，耶穌的回答，只有兩個字：“去吧。”在那一瞬間，我們看到耶穌強大的德能。只需祂的話，就能使魔鬼平息，祂的話能使風暴平息，使死者復活。正如若望福音所說的那樣：“父愛子，把一切都賜給了祂。”

但是，隨後發生的事，令人感到震驚。那些聽到神跡的居民並不接納耶穌。他們出來與祂相會，要求祂離開。為什麼呢？也許他們感到害怕。或許，對他們而言，豬的損失比那兩個受苦的人更為重要。相比之下，還記得那在井邊上的婦女嗎？她與耶穌的相遇，使得她把整個村子的人都帶到耶穌跟前。我們的作證也很重要。我們談論耶穌的時候，會給出怎樣的見證呢？

這個真理發人深省：並非所有看到耶穌的人都會跟隨祂。直到今天，依然如此。看見並不等於相信。我們追隨基督的渴望，不論其是否完美，都是天主的恩典。正如聖保祿宗徒提醒我們的那樣：“天主在你們內工作，使你們願意，並使你們力行。”（參看：斐2:13）

今天，讓我們感謝向我們廣施恩典的天主，讓我們渴望祂。讓我們祈求天主聖神，求祂幫助我們重燃我們對耶穌的愛，永不把耶穌賜給我們的恩典看作是理所當然的。

決志：今天，我要天主，因為祂賜給我追隨祂的渴望，求祂賜我恩典，加深對祂的渴望。

Wednesday of the Thirteenth Week in Ordinary Time
Matthew 8: 28-34
“Go Then”: Christ’s Power and Our Response

Today’s Gospel reminds us of a mysterious and powerful encounter between Jesus and two men possessed by demons. These evil spirits recognized who Jesus was. They knew his authority. And when they begged him to send them into a herd of swine, Jesus answered with just two words: “Go then.” In that moment, we see the immense power of Jesus. With only his word, he silences demons, calms storms, and raises the dead. Truly, as the Gospel of John says, “The Father loves the Son and has handed everything over to him.”

But then something surprising happens. The townspeople—who heard about the miracle—do not welcome Jesus. They come out to meet him… and ask him to leave. Why? Perhaps they were afraid. Or maybe the loss of the pigs meant more to them than the freedom of two suffering men. In contrast, remember the woman at the well? Her encounter with Jesus led her to bring her whole village to him. Our witness matters. What kind of testimony do we give when we speak of Jesus?

It’s a sobering truth: Not everyone who sees Jesus follows him. And it is still true today. Seeing is not the same as believing. Our desire to follow Christ—however imperfect—is already a gift from God. As St. Paul reminds us, “It is God who works in you both to will and to act” (Phil 2:13).

Let us thank the Lord today for the grace to desire Him. Let us ask the Holy Spirit to renew our love for Jesus, and never take for granted the blessing of faith.

Resolution: Today I will thank the Lord for giving me the desire to follow Him, and pray for the grace to deepen that desire.

風暴中的四種回應：學會相信上主

當生活把我們帶入風暴中 —— 我們面對誘惑，困惑，恐懼的時候 —— 我們是怎麼回應的呢？今天，反思我們在困難狀況下可持有四種態度，對我們而言，大有益處。

首先：我們可能會如同羅特那樣，動作遲緩。天主吩咐羅特離開索多瑪，離開這個犯罪之地。然而，他徘徊不前，感到猶豫。有時候，我們知道，必須拋棄有罪的習慣，毒害我們的狀況，可是，我們對依戀過去，常常拖延。割捨過去。並不容易。可是，天使依然會對我們說：“你要逃命，不要回頭。”天主說：“去。”的時候，我們就必須相信，並且行動。

第二：沙漠中的以色列人也懷過去。即使他們重獲自由，仍然懷念“埃及的洋蔥”，忘記了他們在吵洋蔥的時候，正是他們為奴的時候。弟兄姐妹們：我們在回首往事的時候，我們要常常想念獲得天主賜給我們安慰的時候，尤其是我們遠離天主的時候。天主聖神告訴我們：繼續前行。不要回頭。

第三：恐懼。在瑪竇福音中，暴風肆虐的時候，門徒們喊說：“主，救救我們！我們要喪亡了！”恐懼是一股強大的力量，它使我們凍結，使我們感到懷疑。可是，恐懼永遠不會出自天主。耶穌一再提醒我們：不要害怕。

最後：天主聖神的恩典。耶穌平息風暴的時候，門徒充滿敬畏。這就是我們所需要的：不是控制，不是確定，而是驚歎，敬畏，相信天主的拯救。

因此，今天，如果我們發現自己正處在風暴中，就要鼓起勇氣去祈禱：“上主，救我，我要喪亡了。”相信祂決不會把我們留在船上。

Four responses in the storm: learning to trust the Lord

When life brings us into the storm—when we face temptation, confusion, or fear—how do we respond? Today, it does us good to reflect on four possible attitudes we can take in difficult situations.

First, we have the slowness of Lot. God told him to flee Sodom, to leave behind a place of sin. And yet, he lingered. He hesitated. Sometimes we know what we must leave behind—sinful habits, toxic situations, old attachments—but we delay. It is not easy to cut ties. Yet, the angel’s words still speak to us: “Flee for your life, do not look back!” When the Lord says, “Go,” we must trust and move.

Second, there is the nostalgia of Israel in the desert. Even after being freed, the people longed for “the onions of Egypt,” forgetting they were slaves when they ate them. Brothers and sisters, how often we look back with longing on things that once brought comfort, even if they kept us far from God. The Spirit tells us: Keep going. Don’t look back.

Third, fear. In Matthew’s Gospel, when the storm rages, the disciples cry out, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!” Fear is a powerful force—it freezes us, it makes us doubt. But fear is never from the Lord. Jesus reminds us again and again: “Do not be afraid.”

And finally, there is the grace of the Holy Spirit. When Jesus calms the storm, the disciples are filled with awe. This is what we need: not control, not certainty, but wonder, awe, and trust in the Lord who saves.

So today, if we find ourselves in the storm, pray with courage: “Lord, save me, I am perishing.” And trust that He will not leave me alone in the boat.

對耶穌的全然肯定

追隨耶穌不是一小步 —— 而是一個全然決定。這不是要給我們的生活增添額外的東西，比如裝飾品。不，這與我們容許耶穌由內而外，改變我們休戚相關。

首先，耶穌要求我們渡到對岸。祂時常靠近那在遠方的人。祂沒有留在祂感覺安逸的地方。祂也要求我們走出去：尋找那些迷失，被人遺棄，尋找希望的人。我們蒙召，不是要求我們封閉自己，而是要求我們敞開心扉，敞開我們教會的大門。

接著，祂說：跟隨我。祂不是要我們遵循一個想法或規則，而是要追隨祂 —— 一個認識你，愛你，與你同行的活生生的人。跟隨耶穌，意味著我們要放下驕傲，恐懼，有時候，這甚至要求我們放棄自己的計畫。這意味著，我們要改變的是：我們的心態，我們看他人和自我的新方式。

這是一次冒險！耶穌不會要求你生命中的一部分。祂要求你的一切 —— 你的全心。為什麼？因為祂想要賜給你的，遠超你能想像的。一個比舒適更深的快樂。一個比成功更強的平安。一個戰勝你恐懼的使命。

是的，我們是軟弱的。但是，要記住：天主賜給我們信德，望德和愛德的恩典。有了這個恩典，我們才能真正追隨祂 —— 即使前途未定。

今天，耶穌對我們每人說：來，跟隨我。不是明天。不是在所有的一切都很圓滿的時候。現在，如果我們答應祂，祂就會與我們同行，在我們的心中安家。

Monday of the Thirteenth Week in Ordinary Time
Matthew 8:18-22
A radical yes to Jesus

Following Jesus is not a small step—it is a radical decision. It is not about adding something extra to our lives, like a decoration. No, it is about allowing Jesus to change us from within.

First, Jesus invites us to cross to the other shore. He always moves toward those who are far away. He does not stay where it is comfortable. And he asks the same of us: to go out, to seek those who are lost, forgotten, or searching for hope. We are not called to close ourselves in, but to open wide the doors of our hearts and our churches.

Then, he says: Follow me. Not follow an idea or a rulebook, but follow him—a living person who knows you, loves you, and walks beside you. To follow Jesus means to let go of our pride, our fear, and sometimes even our plans. It means a change of heart, a new way of seeing others and ourselves.

And this is an adventure! Jesus does not ask for just a piece of your life. He asks for everything—your whole heart. Why? Because he wants to give you more than you could ever imagine. A joy deeper than comfort. A peace stronger than success. A mission greater than your fears.

Yes, we are weak. We hesitate. But remember: we have been given the grace of faith, hope, and love. With this grace, we can truly follow him—even when the path is uncertain.

Today, Jesus says to each of us: Come. Follow me. Not tomorrow. Not when everything is perfect. But now. And if we say yes, he will walk with us—and make his home in our hearts.
