站直，抬起頭來；因為你們的救贖來近了。

將臨期開始了一個希望和準備的季節。是一個追憶基督第一次來臨，為祂持久臨在，最終歸來做好準備的時期。愛基督就是在我們的生活中不斷與祂相遇，相信祂永遠不會把我們拋棄。

在這焦慮的時刻，路加福音傳遞了希望的訊息。耶穌的默示性圖像強調的是更新，而不是恐懼，鼓勵我們宣認世界是破碎的 —— 比如戰爭，不公，苦難，為天主而言，這恰恰是展現祂變革能力的機會。將臨期邀請我們保持醒寤，容許我們分辨基督的臨在，不以分心和自私的偏情進行分辨，而是在聖體聖事，在邊緣化的人身上，在每天的生活中分辨祂的臨在。

耶穌教導我們：保持醒寤，並要祈禱。祈禱能使我們立穩，使我們以天主的眼目看待問題，抵抗恐懼。教宗方濟各強調兩樣將臨期應持有的態度 ：正念和祈禱。正念邀請我們超越本我，回應他人的需要。我們時常困於自己的計畫，輕看身邊人正遭受的痛苦。祈禱，雖具有挑戰性，有助於我們堅持不懈，即使在分心或心幹的狀況下，讓我們更接近天主。

將臨期是一個更新和行動的季節。現在正是接納慈善，公義和同情心的時刻，我們不僅要預備耶誕節，還要為基督臨現在我們的生活，做好準備。讓我們滿懷希望“站直”，讓我們明白：任何黑暗都不會遮掩天主的真光。

壹：我怎樣才能在這降臨期的每天生活中認出基督？
貳：我怎樣才能對他人的急難，敞開心扉？

願我們藉著祈禱和醒寤，歡喜預備好迎接我們的上主。

First Sunday of Advent
Luke 21: 25-28, 34-36
Stand erect and hold your head high, for your redemption is at hand.

Advent marks the beginning of a season of hope and preparation. It is a time to remember Christ’s first coming and to prepare our hearts for his continued presence and ultimate return. To love Christ is to meet him constantly in our lives, trusting that he never abandons us.

The Gospel of Luke conveys a message of hope amid turmoil. Jesus’ apocalyptic imagery emphasizes renewal rather than fear, encouraging us to acknowledge the world’s brokenness—such as wars, injustice, and suffering—as opportunities for God’s transformative power. Advent invites us to remain vigilant, allowing us to discern Christ’s presence not in distractions or self-serving desires, but in the Eucharist, the marginalized, and the fabric of daily life.

Jesus instructs us to stay awake and pray. Prayer grounds us, enabling us to see with God’s eyes and resist fear. Pope Francis highlights two Advent attitudes: mindfulness and prayer. Mindfulness invites us to look beyond ourselves and respond to the needs of others. Too often, we are consumed by our plans and neglect those suffering around us. Prayer, though challenging, helps us persevere, even amidst distractions or dryness, and draws us closer to God.

Advent is a season of renewal and action. It is a time to embrace charity, justice, and empathy, preparing not only for Christmas but for Christ’s presence in our lives today. Let us “stand erect” with hope, knowing that no darkness is beyond God’s light.

今天的福音經文講述了一個瞬間：耶穌沿著加里肋亞海走，祂召叫了自己的首批門徒，安德肋也包含其內。他是耶穌召叫的首位宗徒。按照傳統，他把福音傳播到遙遠的地區，包括今天的烏克蘭，俄羅斯和希臘。聖安德肋在希臘的阿哈伊亞（Achaea）殉道，他被釘在X形狀的十字架上，如今，這樣的十字架被稱作聖安德肋十字架。今天，讓我們請求聖安德肋特別為那些受俄烏戰爭影響的人轉禱。

為所有固守傳統和法律的人而言，這段經文實在是一則訊息：要領受恩典，而非接受法律主義。令人欣慰的是：如果我們錯誤地狂熱，那就請我們聽聽先知們的話，他們很久以前就已經宣告：信仰是走向天主的行徑，這條行徑對所有人開放。

今天，讓我們反思：耶穌呼籲我留下什麼？我是否準備好滿懷信德和喜樂追隨祂？願聖安德肋激發我們勇敢回應，因為我們知道：我們走過的每一步的時候，耶穌都與我們同行。亞孟。

Feast of Saint Andrew, Apostle
Matthew 4: 18-22

St. Andrew: Responding to the Call of Jesus

Today’s Gospel recounts the moment when Jesus, walking along the Sea of Galilee, calls His first disciples, including St. Andrew. He was the first apostle called by Jesus. According to tradition, he spread the Gospel to distant areas, including present-day Ukraine, Russia, and Greece. St. Andrew was martyred in Achaea, Greece, by being crucified on an X-shaped cross, which is now called St. Andrew’s cross. Let us today ask for the Apostle Andrew’s special intercession for those affected by the war in Ukraine and Russia.

When Jesus calls Andrew and the others, His gaze is one of deep love and understanding. He sees not just fishermen but the fullness of their potential. He sees beyond their nets and boats to the hearts that will become instruments of His mission. Jesus’ words, “Follow me,” are simple yet transformative. With those words, He invites us to a life of purpose, to leave behind what holds us back and entrust our future to God’s will and plan.

Immediately, Andrew and his companions leave behind their nets, boats, and even family to follow Jesus. Their willingness challenges us to consider: Are we ready to let go what holds us back—our fears, doubts, or attachments—and move forward in faith? Jesus doesn’t call us to be perfect but invites us on a journey. He encounters us in our own “Galilee,” transforming the everyday aspects of our lives into something remarkable.

The passage is a message to everyone who insists on traditions and the laws to accept grace rather than legalism. It is appealing to see that if our zeal is misplaced, we should listen to the prophets who long ago declared that faith is the way to God and is open to everyone.

Let us reflect today: What is Jesus calling me to leave behind? Am I ready to follow Him with trust and joy? May St. Andrew inspire us to respond with courage, knowing that Jesus walks with us every step of the way. Amen.

在今天的福音經文中，耶穌鼓勵我們留意那些在我們身邊的徵兆，堅定不移相信天主的聖言。祂用無花果樹的圖像說明：正如我們可以把吐露新芽的葉子看作夏天回歸的資訊，我們也該留意 天主在我們生活中顯現的跡象。耶穌向我們保證：不論季節怎樣變化，不論我們會面對怎樣的挑戰，我們總不是孤獨的。天主總是與我們同在，祂的王國就在近處，激勵我們以開明的眼光，滿懷信德的心對待生活。這樣的提醒使我們能在每日的生活中積極尋求，擁抱那臨在的天主。

然而，耶穌提醒我們：不要過於關注天主國來臨的確切時間。未來完全掌握在天主手中。我們的角色是相信：即使所有的一切都消逝不見，天主的聖言，永遠常存。祂愛，公義，拯救的恩許是一個錨，不論是處在危機，恐懼還是考驗中，都無法使之動搖。

縱觀歷史，許多人都在默思末日，有些人感到害怕：他們認為天主的國意味著災難。然而，耶穌教導說：天國總不會令人感到恐懼，而是給人提供深切的希望。為那些尋求公義，渴望和平，為他人的福祉不懈奮鬥的人而言，天主的國已經來到，天主的國好似地上的種子，默默生長，隨時等待綻放的那一刻。

我們受邀通過表達愛，良善和憐憫，有份于這個王國。讓我們每天受祂恩許的啟迪，從希望中汲取力量，雖然這個世界充滿不確定性，天主聖言依然是真實的，祂的王國常在近處。

Friday of the Thirty-fourth Week in Ordinary Time
Luke 21: 29-33
Trusting in God’s enduring promises

In today’s Gospel, Jesus encourages us to be mindful of the signs that surround us and to place our trust in God’s steadfast word. He uses the image of the fig tree to illustrate that, just as we can recognize the budding leaves as a signal of summer’s return, we should also be attentive to the signs of God’s Kingdom emerging in our lives. Jesus reassures us that regardless of the changing seasons or the challenges we face, we are never alone. God is always present with us, and His Kingdom is near, inspiring us to approach life with open eyes and hopeful hearts. This reminder empowers us to actively seek and embrace the divine presence in our everyday experiences.

However, Jesus cautions us against fixating too much on pinpointing the precise timing of the Kingdom’s coming. That future is solely in God’s hands. Our role is to have faith that, even when everything else diminishes, God’s word will endure. His promise of love, justice, and salvation serves as an anchor that nothing—be it crisis, fear, or trial—can disturb.

Throughout history, many have pondered the end times, with some fearing that God’s Kingdom signifies disaster. However, Jesus imparts that the Kingdom should not invoke fear but instead offer deep hope. For those pursuing justice, yearning for peace, and striving for the welfare of others, God’s Kingdom is already present, much like seeds silently developing in the earth, poised to blossom.

We are invited to partake in this Kingdom through our expressions of love, kindness, and mercy. Let us embrace each day illuminated by His promises, drawing strength from the hope that, despite the world’s uncertainties, God’s word remains true, and His Kingdom is always near.

考驗中的望德：天主的國臨近了

在今天的福音經文中，耶穌結束了祂末世性的講論，提出了兩個結論性的徵兆：耶路撒冷的毀滅以及受造物的改變。這些徵兆意在喚起人們希望，而非使人恐懼，意在提醒人們：天主是永遠存在的；祂對世界煥新的恩許，就是一個“新天新地。”（參看：依65:17）

耶穌首先談到耶路撒冷毀滅的問題，這個觀念使祂的門徒深感不安。為他們而言，耶路撒冷不只是一座城；它是天主臨在和保護的象徵。它的毀滅固然令人不安，耶穌卻保證，這一事件是天主更偉大計畫的一部分。同樣，當我們面對生活中的混亂、感到失落或不確定的時候，我們依然可以從依然穩定不變的天主的影響力中得到安慰。耶穌鼓勵我們超越眼前的環境，提醒我們：我們的挑戰和困難，並不是我們故事的結局，而是天主正在創造的更大篇幅敘述的一部分。

接著，耶穌講述了天上的徵兆 —— 第八個徵兆 —— 使舊的受造物消逝，新受造物誕生。正如分娩的產痛一樣，這些徵兆預示著新生命。祂說：“人子要帶著德能和偉大的光榮，在雲中來到。”（參看：路21:27）這個取自達尼爾先知書的圖像，象徵著天主之國的來臨 —— 一個公義，愛，仁慈不斷成長的人類王國。

“站直，昂起頭來。”這些話令我們感到心安，我們的世界不論如何混亂或破裂，都在天主的掌控中，祂的王國臨近了。讓我們滿著希望，勇力和信德生活，致力於在這個世界建樹祂的王國，讓我們明白：我們現在的做的每個愛德功行和公道之舉，都是祂永恆王國的一部分。
