Matthew 11:28-30
Find rest in the Heart of Jesus My burden is light
Jesus says to each of us: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” It is a personal invitation, full of tenderness. He is not a distant God. He is near, always. He sees our fatigue, our struggles, the burdens we carry in silence, and He invites us to come close to His heart.
To follow Jesus is not always easy. It is a choice – a way of life—that requires courage, generosity, and love. It means prayer, service, and the willingness to give up certain things to gain everything. Jesus never forces us. He simply invites us, like a friend who walks beside us, offering his protection, his presence. He says, “You are mine. Let me carry your burdens with you.”
We know well what it means to be tired. Life today moves fast, and it often wears us down — not only in body, but also in mind and spirit. We carry the weight of worries, losses, and disappointments. But Jesus sees all of this. He does not turn away. He says: “Give it to me. Let me help you.”
The comfort of knowing we are not alone. Jesus gives us this rest, not by taking away all suffering, but by giving meaning to our cross. He turns weariness into hope. May we find, in the arms of the Lord, the joy and strength we need to keep walking. With Him, even the heaviest burden becomes light.
Let us not be seduced by the noise of the world that prizes wealth and power, that forgets the poor and tramples on the weak. Let us instead follow the quiet voice of Christ, who continues to say, “Come to me.”
May Mary, the humble handmaid of the Lord, teach us the wisdom of the heart – that hidden wisdom which the proud cannot grasp, but which is light for the path of the lowly. May we always find our rest in Jesus.
