Memorial of Saint Boniface, Bishop and Martyr
John 17:20-26
They Will Believe in Me

Jesus prays to the Father, “That the world may believe…” And He chooses to reach others through us—yes, through you, through me. Not with noise, not with big gestures, but through lives that shine with kindness, sincerity, and hope. We evangelise through the small things: being honest, helping someone who is tired, and forgiving those who wrong us. You don’t need to carry a Bible under your arm—you need to carry Christ in your heart. That is how the Gospel is preached today: by a life that reflects love.

But Jesus also prayed for unity. Unity in families, in communities, in the Church. Division wounds the Body of Christ. How many hearts are broken by gossip, how many communities weakened by whispers in the shadows. If someone hurts you, speak to them with courage and love. Don’t spread words that can destroy. Jesus did not give up on His apostles—He walked patiently with each of them. Let us do the same. In a world full of shouting, be someone who listens. In a Church full of frailty, be someone who unites.

And finally, “that I may be in them,” Jesus says. He wants to live in us. Return to Him. Do not neglect your prayer life, your silence, your time with God. Maybe today feels like a failure. Maybe your plans fell through. But remember: there is a God who walks with you. You are not a mistake. You have much to give. Be patient with yourself.

And never forget: the world will believe not because we are perfect, but because Christ lives in us. So walk forward with joy, with courage, and with love.
